Artistic collaboration

Fred Mazoir, Forge
By turns sculptor, metalworker and blacksmith, Fred Mazoir is what you might call a “metal fanatic”…
Through his work, he brings to light one of the noblest of materials: antique iron.

FRED MAZOIR’S JOURNEY, IN A FEW WORDS...
Although now based in Brittany, Fred Mazoir, an artistic blacksmith, originally comes from Haute-Savoie.
This detail matters, as the mineral-rich landscape deeply influenced him, just like the many hours spent in his grandfather’s woodworking workshop.
Exposed from an early age to the magic of fire and manual craftsmanship, he chose to pursue an artistic path in his studies.
A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Quimper in 1993, he has since never stopped exploring every aspect of a captivating world — that of metal transformation.
AN ARTIST AT THE SERVICE OF MATTER
Fred Mazoir loves the iron he shapes. For the many
possibilities this material offers, no doubt. But also for its
paradoxical nature.
Sharp, cold, rigid… Iron can also be soft, hot, malleable
… And this polymorphous, ever-changing character is perfectly captured by Fred
Manoir in his
works.
Looking at his work, you realize that, far from being inert,
iron is, on the contrary, an organic substance, eminently
alive.
WHY CHOOSE IRON FOR SINALLAGMA SHADING SYSTEMS?
A human companion for millennia, iron lends itself perfectly to eco-responsible use.
Pure, it acquires an oxidized patina over time, making it extremely resistant. Unlike modern steels, it therefore requires no chemical treatment or additional coating.
Forged or melted close to our production facility, it is part of our commitment to supporting the local economy.
Endlessly recyclable, without ever losing its mechanical and physical properties, it is, in essence, an environmentally-friendly material.
Aesthetic and graceful, it enhances wooden outdoor designs with elegance.
Skillfully forged, it allows for the creation of connection elements that are both lightweight and strong.
Over time, the ochre-colored patina that forms on its surface blends beautifully with the natural tones of chestnut wood, creating a remarkably harmonious ensemble.
Crafted with true artisanal expertise, it adds an extra touch of originality to our shade structures.
Lastly, it possesses all the mechanical and physical properties required to build sturdy, long-lasting constructions—so you can enjoy Sinallagma structures for many years to come.
Alexis Ferron, stained glass artist
Alexis Ferron is a stained glass artisan in Ille-et-Vilaine. Trained in traditional techniques, he creates stained glass windows with abstract lines, often inspired by nature…
ALEXIS FERRON: A LIFE OF GLASS, COLORS AND LIGHT...
A tamer of grayness and a purveyor of light, Alexis Ferron has been working as an independent stained-glass craftsman since 2003.
Stained-glass work is a demanding discipline that requires equal parts artistry and craftsmanship.
Alexis Ferron’s creations are a perfect illustration of this dual calling.
For while it’s true that he loves juggling with colors, what this
artist appreciates above all is playing with the
transparency of glass. Mastering all the techniques of
the art of stained glass, he offers tailor-made compositions,
adapted to the places for which they are intended, both in form and in spirit.
A fan of clean lines, Alexis creates one-of-a-kind pieces.
They can be designed for any type of structure (door
and windows, transoms, verandas, arbors or shades…), and can be
posed on any support (wood, metal…).
STAINED GLASS AND SHADE STRUCTURE, A PLAY OF SHADOWS AND LIGHT
Unique and full of charm, stained glass adds an extra touch of character to the structures it adorns.

Integrated into our planted shade structures, Alexis Ferron’s stained-glass pieces gently shape the light and help highlight the subtle tones of the foliage…
As the hours pass and the sunlight shifts, the colors change, subtly transforming the atmosphere of the space…
The magic of stained glass comes to life !
